Red Letter Consulting Services offers a quality service to help you achieve your goals and outperform your competitors by creating or updating your management systems to achieve maximum business benefits.

Many business owners believe that management systems are only for larger businesses. In fact, management systems are equally as important and beneficial to businesses of all sizes.

Benefits of a Business Management System:
A good Business Management System (BMS) can broaden your horizons, enabling you to compete for larger tenders and government contracts, that were previously unobtainable. Most larger contracts require systems that comply with current Legislation. A BMS conveys your approach to business and holds you in good stead as a quality company with set policies and procedures in place to achieve your goals.

Whilst you might look upon a Management System and Health and Safety requirements as just another burden of paperwork, it is actually the INTENTION behind the paperwork that determines it's worth - the INTENTION to create a system that documents how to do things legally and safely.  The documentation only works if you make it work, you need to "live" it.  It is no good if it is put in the cupboard waiting for the next audit, it needs to be an integral part of the business, the "bible" of the business.

Good business management only happens from the top - it is good leadership. The more you care, the more your workers will care, the healthier and happier your workers are, the more productive your business becomes.  The added by-product of a good management system is being compliant with legislation.

A summary of three key components (in brief) of a comprehensive management system are:

  1. Quality Management (ISO 9001)

Quality Management Systems (QMS) should be based on the Standard ISO 9001.

ISO 9001 is the International Standard for a Quality Management System. The standard provides details of what a management system should have to create a quality system that achieves consistent quality of your products or services and continual improvement. The standard requires that you plan your business goals, organise your processes in order to achieve those goals and operate, maintain, improve and control your processes and procedures.

A QMS is quite simply a clear set of instructions which your business runs by. A QMS enables a clear understanding by both management and workers of business protocol enabling a clear, efficient work place.

Both small and large business can benefit enormously by employing the ISO 9001 Standard. A QMS provides a good foundation for all business management systems.

  2. Work Health and Safety (ISO 4801)

The protection of the health and safety of all workers is vital to the success of your business. Poor performance in WHS can take a heavy financial toll on your business, not to mention the human cost of work-related illness, injury or fatality.

You can help to protect your business and your workers by implementing a WHS management system. The primary aim of an effective WHS system is to reduce workplace illness and injury. AS 4801 is used as a benchmark to assess WHS systems.

It is important that your business complies with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations.

  3. Environmental Management (ISO 14001)

The purpose of the Environmental Management Standard is to provide a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions, in balance with socio-economic needs.

Showing compliance with ISO 14001 is a powerful tool for promoting your business as an ethical business, putting the environment as a business priority.

Whilst it is not necessary for your Business Management Systems to be third party certified, certification can carry quite a bit of kudos in high places.  We can help to get you ready for certification. Red Letter Consulting Services will act as your “Coach” whilst the certifying party will be the “Umpire”.
